Ben Affleck Posts Footage of Deathstroke on Social Media—Does this Mean He’s Appearing in Batman’s Solo Film?

Was there a glitch is the system? Is this another case of middle-aged dad losing a bout with technology? Video footage of Deathstroke runway stomping through a steamy hallway popped up on Ben Affleck’s social media and it’s raising a few questions. Maybe it has to do with the fact that he, DC’s current big screen Batman, was the one to post it. Or that he simply dropped the bombshell video with no context like it was a Beyonce visual album.

The only DC movie currently filming is Justice League, so the footage has to be from that. Even so, it’s unclear whether he’ll have a major part or if this is a teaser for a larger role in another film. Funny enough, TheWrap is now reporting that Deathstroke will be the main villain in Batman’s solo film, per an “individual with knowledge of the situation.” But like my grandma and most foods, take that with a grain of salt.

For those unfamiliar, Deathstroke aka Slade Wilson (no relation to Deadpool’s Wade Wilson despite the glaring similarities), is a villainous assassin who first appeared in 1980’s The New Teen Titans and holds a major grudge with the Green Arrow. We last saw him in live-action form on the CW’s Arrow, played by Manu Bennett. It would be interesting to see how he enters the DC Cinematic Universe, if at all, given his many affiliations including the League of Assassins and the Suicide Squad.

While we don’t know anything about Deathstroke’s role just yet, we do know that Justice League is headed to theaters on Nov. 17, 2017. The Batman solo flick, on the other hand, doesn’t have a release date as of right now.
