The Flash Will Take You Down to Gorilla City in Season 3

A familiar face is returning to The Flash when season three gets underway in October. During the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg revealed that Gorilla Grodd would be back to potentially cause more trouble for the Central City gang. However, it looks like they’ll be heading to his neck of the woods this time around.

“We’re going to be doing a two-part episode that takes place in Gorilla City,” he said during the CW’s panel, according to Comic Book Resources.

When we last saw Grodd, Barry and company sent him through one of the breaches to a gorilla refuge on Earth-2 where others like him, who were also experimented on, could live together. No word on what sends the gang to his new home but I have a sneaking suspicion it has something to do with Barry setting up the Flashpoint timeline in last season’s finale.

Per IGN, The network also announced that Savatar would be the other big baddie during season three. In the comics, he was a Cold War pilot who becomes a Speedster after getting struck by lightning. He then spends decades growing stronger and gaining a group of followers who seek to cut off other Speedsters’ connection to the Speed Force.

At this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, we also learned that Dr. Alchemy would be a main villain. He has the ability to transmutate into any element thanks to the Philosopher’s Stone, which once belonged to Merlin. Between this, the musical crossover with Supergirl and the confirmation that Wally West will be Kid Flash, season three just might be the best one yet.

Mark your calendars—The Flash returns on Oct. 4.
