Eat your heart out, La Roux.

We’re not too far from the premiere of Netflix’s Luke Cage, but that hasn’t slowed down this hype train. Check out the poster image that was just recently released featuring the man himself in a t-shirt riddled with bullet holes placed there by some undoubtedly-sure-to-now-be-regretting-life baddies.

Let me tell you, it’s not every day you get to stare down Luke Cage, and if this poster is even a fraction as intimidating as he is, then I would’ve surrendered the moment he walked into the room. Just drop my weapon, turn around, and walk right out the back door. The rest of the henchpeople can deal with him, I’ve got better things to do. Like watch Luke Cage, I guess.

Anyway.

Lots of folks are plenty stoked about Luke Cage‘s impending premiere. His character, as presented in Netflix’s Jessica Jones, certainly made an impact, quickly becoming a fan favorite. Fans might also remember that not too long ago, the show’s executive producer, Cheo Hodari Coker, remarked that the arrival of the invulnerable superhero could not be more timely. At this year’s Comic-Con, he said, “When I think about what’s going on in the world right now, the world is ready for a bulletproof black man.” Truer words have never been spoken.
