New Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children Trailer Gets Pretty Tim Burton-y

Tim Burton's X-Men: First Class.

This latest trailer for Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children is about as stylish as they come. While it’s not overtly Tim Burton-esque (whatever that might mean to you), it’s definitely got plenty of his hallmarks on it. The color palette and the clothing styles alone should be enough to tip you off to this being a Burton production. This trailer gives a pretty good high-level pass over the movie’s central plot and premise. I don’t know a whole lot about the movie or the books, and I have to say, this trailer definitely piqued my interest. That’s what a trailer is supposed to do, isn’t it?

Miss Peregrine has been compared to X-Men in a lot of different ways, not the least of which is through its cast of characters. “Peculiar” kids (read: mutants) coming to live in a special house under the guidance of an older peculiar person who wants to protect them. Sound familiar?

Starring Eva Green, Asa Butterfield, Samuel L. Jackson, and Judi Dench, this Tim Burton’s X-Men movie hits theaters on September 30th.
