And the cast for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child just keeps on growing! After revealing the Potter family and the Granger-Weasleys, the London production has now released the next set of cast-revealing images, which promised “two more wizarding characters” from the show. This time, we’re getting some Slytherin action.
Alex Price plays the role of Draco Malfoy nineteen years after the events of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows, and he is rocking that dad ponytail. The play also introduces Draco’s son, Scorpius Malfoy, whom we see here as played by Anthony Boyle. Look at his face! That poor kid…
I have to say, I’m very curious to see what kind of parent Draco has turned out to be, considering the pressures his own father placed on him as a boy. Has he grown up and turned into his old man? Or has Draco learned how to break those old family patterns since his school days?
Well, in order to find out, I’d have to fly to London, which I’m not sure I’ll be able to do. However, if you’re already there (or you’re taking a trip this summer!), previews for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child start on June 7 at London’s West End at the Palace Theater. The official opening is on July 30.
