Watch The New Ghostbusters Trailer Recut With The Original Theme Song

Now this is bound to ruin some childhoods.

The trailer for the new Ghostbusters movie premiered on Thursday to a myriad of reactions–excitement, trepidation, cautious optimism, and passionate dislike.

Whatever your feelings on it, there’s no ignoring the fact that the classic theme song–originally performed by Ray Parker, Jr.–has been updated and tweaked a little for the new movie. So of course it was only a matter of time before someone on the Internet decided to see how the trailer played with the original theme song instead.

Thoughts? Reactions? I gotta say–I kind of like it? Given the way the song is cut over the footage, though, we only get about a minute’s worth of scenes from the real trailer–which is over twice that length–and no dialogue from either Kate McKinnon or Leslie Jones (actresses who will be two of the shining stars of this movie, IMO). Either way, it’s going to be stuck in my head all day now. Thanks, Internet.
