Taylor Swift Countersues Radio Host Who Allegedly Lifted Her Skirt, Groped Her at Meet and Greet

This story is particularly upsetting because no one involved in the suit is denying that someone assaulted Taylor Swift backstage at a concert meet and greet in 2013; the question is who.

According to People, Swift is now countersuing former Denver radio host Robert “Jackson” Mueller, who sued Swift last month, saying false allegations by Swift’s security team that he sexually assaulted her caused him to be fired from his job.

In Mueller’s suit, he explained that he and his girlfriend participated in a meet and greet backstage at the Pepsi Center in Denver in 2013. Later that night, a member of Swift’s security team accused Mueller of sexually assaulting Swift during the meet-and-greet; Mueller was allegedly kicked out of the arena, prohibited from attending future Pepsi Center concerts, and fired from his job over the accusations.

But Mueller says Swift’s security team had the wrong guy, and that it was in fact his boss at KYGO-FM, Eddie Haskell, who assaulted the singer.

In Swift’s countersuit, she says the incident left her “surprised, upset, offended, and alarmed,” but that she’s confident it was Mueller who lifted her skirt and groped her:

Ms. Swift knows exactly who committed the assault—it was Mueller—and she is not confused in the slightest about whether her long-term business acquaintance, Mr. Haskell, was the culprit. Mueller did not merely brush his hand against Ms. Swift while posing for the photograph. In the course of his meet and greet with Ms. Swift, Mueller intentionally reached under her skirt, and groped with his hand an intimate part of her body in an inappropriate manner, against her will, and without her permission.

According to People, Swift is demanding a jury trial, and will donate any money she wins from the suit to “charitable organizations dedicated to protecting women from similar acts of sexual assault and personal disregard.”
