Big Chief Studios to Release This Fantastic Doctor Who Ninth Doctor Figure

Oh Doctor, my Doctor. Christopher Eccleston’s Ninth Doctor was my first, and you never forget your first. Wait, we’re still talking about Doctor Who, right?

I’m so glad that the Ninth Doctor has been getting love lately. There was a great five-part Ninth Doctor comic put out by Titan Comics earlier this year, and now we’ve got this beautiful Ninth Doctor statue from Big Chief Studios. I mean, you can’t tell me that you didn’t look at the photo above and think it was a photo of Christopher Eccleston in the part for at least a split second! I know I did! Here’s the figure in full:

This the 1/6th scale Ninth Doctor joins a long line of awesome collectibles from Big Chief Studios (actually, some of them are less than awesome – check out Emo Tenth Doctor) and does an amazing job of paying homage to the Doctor that revived a franchise.

This figure is special not only because of its uncanny likeness, but also because it comes with a lot of nifty extras! The Ninth Doctor comes with his sonic screwdriver (natch), a change of sweater, and bunch of accessories like a banana from “The Doctor Dances”, his TARDIS key, Psychic Paper, and even a little Spider-Droid in open and closed form from “The End of the World”.

The Ninth Doctor figure goes up for pre-sale on Big Chief’s website this Friday at 6pm UK time (that’s 1pm ET/10am PT). There’s no confirmed price as of right now, but you can expect to drop around $250.
