Pixar will debut this short titled Sanjay’s Super Team before their upcoming feature The Good Dinosaur; the first few moments of the short can be seen above, featuring Sanjay’s father encouraging his son to stop watching a superhero show on TV and to come meditate, while Sanjay has trouble tearing himself away. The story was developed by Pixar artist Sanjay Patel, based on his own childhood experiences idolizing superheroes, as well as his own family’s roots.
This clip doesn’t show us the rest of the story, but we already know from Pixar that Sanjay will envision “a kind of ancient, Hindu version of The Avengers, with the gods appearing like superheroes.” To watch that part, I guess you’ll have to go check out The Good Dinosaur once it’s out. It sounds so neat that it’s almost too bad it’s just a short!
