Steven Spielberg Maybe Kinda Sorta Hints at an Indiana Jones Sequel With Harrison Ford

Recommended Videos

In an interview with Yahoo! Movies, Steven Spielberg touched on maybe kinda sorta starting up a new Indiana Jones sequel. He said so when he was talking about how many movies he’s directed featuring Tom Hanks versus how many movies he’s directed featuring Harrison Ford. His comment about making Indiana Jones 5 was, let’s be honest, more of a throwaway joke than anything:

Now, I’ll probably do an Indy 5 with Harrison. It’ll be five for Harrison, four for Tom. I’ve got to make another one with Tom, [so] that’ll be five for Tom, five for Harrison. And I think I’m going to leapfrog that way for the rest of my career. With Daniel Day-Lewis in everything else!

At the very least, his comment lets us know that he’s still got Indy on the mind, and it’d hopefully feature Ford, no less. While we did buzz a bit about Chris Pratt possibly taking up the whip, we’re glad to hear that Spielberg’s still giving Ford priority.

Who knows, maybe after Ready Player One and The BFG, Spielberg will be looking to dive into some familiar territory. How cool would it be for that territory to be Indiana Jones territory?

Just leave the crystal skulls at home this time. Please?
