Excuse your faces, excuse all your faces.

New casing announcements and the first image from Rogue One were just released. According to IGN, the cast will include Felicity Jones, Donnie Yen, and Mads Mikkelsen as well as:

Diego Luna (Milk, Killing Them Softly), Ben Mendelsohn (Bloodline, Mississippi Grind), Donnie Yen (Ip Man, Blade II), Forest Whitaker (The Butler, The Last King of Scotland), Alan Tudyk (Con Man, Firefly), and Riz Ahmed (Nightcrawler, Four Lions).

Look at this incredible diverse cast, everyone. Look at all the talent. Look at that bad-ass leading lady front and center. There are a lot of dudes, true; but I have a hunch that the film itself will at least have more gender parity than this poster, and might subvert tropes about what it means to be a “strong female” in an otherwise male crew.

Look at all the nerdy veterans on display here (Washhhhhh!). I am so in for these space cowboys.
