I’ll admit, from my first experience of Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass” I disliked it. Because well, just listen to the lyrics. I got what she was going for but the moment she threw in the line “skinny bitches” I was out. It took what was meant as a proud-of-your-body anthem and turned it into body shaming. But hey, it’s catchy, right? (Where’s my sarcasm font…) Your mileage may vary on its message, of course.
We’ve posted a few parodies of the geek variety but here’s one that both discusses the issues of the song as well as rewrites the lyrics to have a more inclusive theme. Take it away, Natty Valencia!
