Wired has an article up today featuring artist Jeremy Mayer‘s latest work, a life sized nude made entirely of typewriter parts, called Nude IV, or Delilah, to her friends.
The most interesting part of Mayer’s sculptures is that in addition to only using the parts he can recycle from disassembling typewriters, he also only uses the connections from the typewriters; no welding, gluing, or soldering allowed. The second most interesting part might be that she is symmetrical, requiring two or more of the same model of typewriter.
Delilah is a beautiful way to see an old technology recycled to represent a new one.
