With his series “Zombiescapes” artist George Pfau takes scenes from zombie movies and TV shows and makes them classy (well, classier) by illustrating them as impressionist paintings. Apart from the inherent coolness of mixing a classical art technique with something so relatively recent as our fascination with the brain-eating undead, the way Pfau’s art takes scenes of gore and death and abstractifies them interesting on a conceptual level. What a pretty field, where things look so nice and peaceful. But you know what’s really happening. Braaaaaains.
