Things We Saw Today: A Stormtrooper Riding a Guinea Pig

Arnold the guinea pig’s pet human, Timothy Lim, is nice enough to facilitate his cosplay tendencies. See more at WeLoveFine.

  • <self-promotion> As of today, our very own Rebecca Pahle (writing here in the third person) is putting fingers to keys for Pajiba as well as The Mary Sue. If you enjoy Oscar snark you can check out my her first post, “A One Hundred Percent Accurate, No BS List of the 2015 Oscar Winners.” </self-promotion>
  • The reveal of Peter Capaldi’s Doctor Who outfit (check it out here if you missed it) has led to skyrocketing consumer demand for his Crombie coat—with red silk lining, of course. Meanwhile, the BBC had to issue a correction when it inaccurately labelled Twelve’s boots, which come from the British Boot Company, as Doc Martens. This isn’t amateur hour, BeeB. Cheers to Vanity Fair for not only fair racial representation, but also putting the spotlight on stars of good films that have no Oscar nods (Fruitvale Station, Short Term 12, and 42).

Hey Pajiba is one of my regular hangouts. Looking forward to seeing you there.

It’s incredibly sad that “Not all the people on the cover are white” is still considered newsworthy today but alas, that’s the state of Hollywood. I am happy to see it this time though.

Tim Lim is awesome; back in his pre-superstar/WLF status when he did more Shirt A Day designs, he hit me up on FB because I supported his designs and he loved my joy Picard profile image tons and offered me any one of his designs from RedBubble free.
Naturally, I selected the now defunct (he tppk down stuff related to Marvel and Hasbro when he joined WLF) Norman: Kobold der Nacht (a mashup of Goblin and Nosferatu). Whatta guy!

So, Rebecca, are you planning on eventually taking over all of my favorite sites? Because I am okay with that.

An equal amount of black people on the cover of Vanity? That’s it, minorities are taking over.

Glad the Croods got a nod toward their character animation. It had a really fun and engaging art design overall, really.

“When the visual effects nominees are announced at the 2014 Oscars, Academy members will panic when they realize, shit, we forgot to nominate Pacific Rim. To make up for their egregious error, they give it the Oscar in 2015. It’s accepted by Idris Elba riding a giant robot.”

I WILL DENY REALITY UNTIL THIS HAPPENS
