J.K. Rowling Reveals Sirius Black’s Birthday With Some Bribery

J.K. Rowling, who was cheering on Scotland’s rugby team over the weekend, enlisted some support from her Twitter following by dangling some Harry Potter fun facts.

All in good fun, tons of Harry Potter fans, despite their rugby allegiances, tweeted #AsOne to learn when the Marauder was born.

The Scottish team did end up winning, with witchcraft, of course, playing no part. To no surprise, Sirius is a Scorpio.

Hey guys, I just realized: Sirius Black’s birthday is right after Voldemort killed James and Lily (October 31st) so he spent it either tracking down Pettigrew or in prison/was reminded of it every year. Aw, ok, I’m going to be sad the rest of the day now.
