Bart the Boy and A Dog Named Homer! New Simpsons Couch Gag Parodies Adventure Time

Recommended Videos

Hearing or watching the Adventure Time opening is one of those things that’ll pretty much always fill me with happiness without fail. While I haven’t been watching The Simpsons, the latest couch gag that combines the two shows is absolutely delightful. The gag will air this Sunday before the first episode of season 28 titled “Monty Burns’ Fleeing Circus” which features guest stars Keegan-Michael Key and Taraji P. Henson.

Adventure Time creator Pendleton Ward assisted with the opening, singing a version of the song with new lyrics like “Run don’t walk/You might even hear Maggie talk.” According to TVLine, executive producer Al Jean calls it “the brain child of Mike Anderson, our supervising director” and “a really beautiful, elaborate crossover.”  Considering how much I also adored the Rick and Morty couch gag (“No more guest animators, man!”), these crossovers are a pretty clever way to get animation fans back into The Simpsons, which continues to be the longest-running scripted series in television history (especially with that 13 day marathon coming up). What did you think about the clip?
