Homestar Runner Creators Deliver New (and Completely Random) Web Series for Disney XD

Dooblie-doo!

The creators of Homestar Runner, The Brothers Chaps (Mike and Matt Chapman), are bringing their sensibility to a new generation of fans in a webseries for Disney XD called Two More Eggs. And yes, it’s just as insane and random as Homestar Runner was, but for younger viewers. Check out the first episode above!

The series dropped on Disney XD’s YouTube channel today, as well as on Watch Disney XD, with three episodes. The above “Dooble – Dooblie Doo,” which finds Dooble singing his signature song… everywhere;  “CGI Palz – Theme Song,” featuring Rotisserie, Rooty, Arlington, The Lenore Street Bridge and Pekot explaining computer-generated imagery; and “Hot Dip – Not 4 Momz,” a commercial parody for Hot Dip, the latest snack food that’s, well, not for moms. (Sorry, moms!)

New episodes will be released every Tuesday throughout the summer. According to Spinoff Online, Disney Animation wanted to to give The Brothers Chaps all the freedom they need, giving them props for having been one of the first in the web content game:

“As we pursue new methods of development and short-form production, we looked to two trailblazers in the field, Matt and Mike, who created a beloved web series years before today’s ubiquitous video-sharing platforms even existed,” Eric Coleman, senior vice president of Disney Animation, said in a statement. “This project epitomizes our development strategy – hire great talent and give them the freedom to create content with their unique point of view.”

Thank you, Disney XD, for letting these weirdos run amok!
