Today in sentences I never thought I’d write, Variety is reporting that Marisa Tomei will play Aunt May in Marvel’s upcoming Spider-Man movie. Marisa Tomei. Marisa. Tomei. I’m so surprised, and so excited.
Sony and Marvel have yet to comment on the casting, but Variety says that although “insiders could not say where things stood in the deal-making process, they have added that an offer was made late last week for the Oscar-winning actress to join Tom Holland, who was recently tapped to play the web-slinging superhero.”
Obviously it’s possible that Variety’s information will turn out to be unfounded, but I’m definitely interested to see what an Aunt Tomei would be like. What do you think, friends?
