Yet another Republican loses their sense of time, accusing Biden of ‘high’ prices despite Trump being president for a year

Donald Trump and members of his Republican army never let go of an opportunity to talk badly about former United States President Joe Biden and his administration, even when it is not relevant to the topic they are discussing. An example of the same was observed recently when House Majority Leader Steve Scalise appeared in front of the Press for a conference on January 13, 2026, and blamed Biden for doing things that Trump could have ideally rectified in the one year he was president, but chose not to.

During Tuesday’s press conference, Steve Scalise discussed a multitude of topics, primarily around the reforms Donald Trump and his administration had brought during their second term of presidency. Unsurprisingly enough, Scalise also dedicated a significant amount of his time to bashing Joe Biden and trying to prove why Trump was a better president than him. In that extreme adrenaline rush of trying to suck up to Trump, Scalise almost forgot that the words that he was uttering out of his mouth do not hold ground because they were mostly lies and people who have a functioning brain (they do not even have to be intelligent) will be able to identify it.

In a specific moment that is currently going viral on social media, especially X (formerly Twitter), Scalise can be seen holding Joe Biden responsible for “high” prices of goods and services during his administration. He contrasted that observation with the administration of Donald Trump and said that inflation had reduced considerably. There are two things which are off about his comments here, first Biden was president a year ago and Trump has had a year to rectify the mistakes of the previous president which he clearly didn’t, so how much more longer will it take for him and people of his administration to acknowledge that work needs to be done and they get at it and stop blaming the Biden administration for everything? Second, the claim that prices are lower under the Trump administration and that inflation has reduced is not entirely true. While they are currently in a more stable situation, that wasn’t the case just a few months ago when inflation was bad, and prices of items were soaring so much so that people had to do budget cuts to sustain themselves. This aside, did he forget the whole fiasco during the government shutdown, where the administration refused to extend SNAP benefits, putting thousands of Americans at risk of starvation? What about that? Was that also benefiting Americans? How was that better than what the Biden administration was doing?
