Megyn Kelly should be ashamed of herself

Megyn Kelly addressed the Jeffrey Epstein email release and is still taking heat for her comments. Viewers were outraged when the host talked about the convicted sex trafficker on her show recently. After the release of the Epstein emails online, Kelly stepped to the microphone to talk about the information inside of those virtual documents and promptly made everyone listening uncomfortable.

In her commentary, Kelly tried to draw a line between separating Epstein’s victims and younger children. The host asserted that in her eyes, the criminal was not an “actual pedophile” because his crimes targeted girls closer to 15 instead. This distinction is flimsy and social media let Kelly have it once the Sirius XM clip started to go viral online. The commentary spread like wildfire and respondents just couldn’t believe she said these words.

Megyn Kelly: "I know somebody very close to this case…Jeffrey Epstein, in this person's view, was not a pedophile…He was into the barely legal type, like he liked 15 year old girls…He wasn't into like 8 year olds…There's a difference between a 15 year old and a 5 year old."

Referring to Epstein, Kelly said, “He wasn’t into 8-year-olds. But, he liked the very young, teen types… There’s a difference between a 15-year-old and a 5-year-old. You know, whatever, it’s sick.”

I do know somebody very, very close to this case who is in a position to know virtually everything,” Kelly told Batya Ungar-Sargon. “And this person has told me from the start, years and years ago, that Jeffrey Epstein, in this person’s view, was not a pedophile.”

What else did Megyn Kelly say about Epstein?

The clip posted above was shocking for a lot of viewers. Kelly has had a history of saying controversial and shocking statements. In fact, her defense of blackface to NBC led to them terminating her show back in 2018. Since that time, the host has been the source of multiple soundbites in favor of conservative policy. Some of her followers considered this an unforgivable utterance considering the subject matter at hand.

“This is this person’s view, who was there for a lot of this, but that he was into the barely legal type. Like, he liked 15-year-old girls,” Kelly added. “I’m just giving you facts that he wasn’t into, like, eight-year-olds. But he liked the very young teen types that could pass for even younger than they were, but would look legal to a passerby.”

“For the first time, I thought, oh, no, he was an actual pedophile,” she shared. “I don’t know whether it’s true. And, I have to be honest, I don’t really trust Pam Bondi’s word on the Epstein matters anymore…You can say that’s a distinction without a difference. I think there is a difference. There’s a difference between a 15-year-old and a 5-year-old, you know?”

With the United States House of Representatives voting on a release for the Epstein Files this week, this topic will not be out of the news cycle anytime soon. In fact, the information in those documents could only intensify the microscope on Kelly’s comments as more details become public.
