‘This ain’t Bridgerton’: Tampa bride requests specific song at wedding. Then the DJ messes up in the worst way possible

Every bride wants a cinematic moment walking back down the aisle, but not one soundtracked by an uncensored club banger. In a wedding recap that feels less Bridgerton and more beautiful disaster, one Tampa bride revealed how her carefully curated vibe got hijacked the second the DJ hit play.

Not only did he start blasting the explicit version of a 50 Cent track, but the violinist also apparently chose to freelance into a completely different genre. And just when you think it couldn’t unravel further, the wedding coordinator approaches the bride with a panic-inducing problem. Aren’t weddings supposed to be the happiest day of someone’s life?

What Happened?

Now that the day is over and done with, Sydney (@_sydneypaigeberry) is airing out all her mishaps one by one. The entire thing begins when she posts a TikTok giving just a glimpse of what started a trail of grievances.

The clip garnered 3.3 million viewers and over 2,000 comments voicing their amusement over the entire debacle. In a separate video with 90,000 views, Sydney gives a story time. In the original clip, the text overlay reads: “When the recessional song was supposed to be 21 questions instrumental ONLY.” The video shows family members walking down the aisle while 50 Cent’s explicit version of  “21 Questions” plays.

In the following video, Sydney shares the row of mishaps that began with the music, in chronological order, of course. The entire list was made and sent to the owner of the wedding company they hired. They got coordinators for the day. However, apparently, the company was supposed to have meetings with the vendors before the wedding. Then she starts going down the list one by one.

First, the Flowers and Music

First, Sydney says that when she was getting ready, she noticed that the pedestal flowers had been placed at the wrong end of the aisle. She says her content creator thankfully asked to get it fixed. Next, when the ceremony finished and the officiant asked for the first kiss, the music that was supposed to start playing did not.

“We were just awkwardly standing there,” Sydney explains, “we kissed a second time because we didn’t know what to do.” She also shares how they hired a violinist for the ceremony and cocktail hour. She asked him to play the instrumental version of 50 Cent’s “21 Questions” when the wedding party walked down the aisle.

“Imagine my shock and horror when I hear 50 Cent’s voice booming over the loud speakers as our grandparents and uncles and parents are walking down the aisle,” she says. Sydney clarifies that they wanted the instrumental version for it to be a “nostalgic, fun song,” not whatever the DJ cooked up. She says she tried to laugh it off so it didn’t ruin her day.

Then, the Portraits, Booze and Cake

If that wasn’t bad enough, Sydney says that during the family portraits being taken, the violinist starts playing what she describes as “fiddler music.” She again emphasizes that this is not what she asked for. She explicitly told them “new and current songs,” like instrumental Chappel Roan or Sabrina Carpenter.

Instead, “he starts going rogue.” At this, Sydney reaches close to a breaking point and asks for the wedding coordinator. After 10 minutes of her mother and sister-in-law searching, the coordinator is found and ordered to stop the music. This apparently makes him quiet for the rest of his time there. Sydney says, “So there’s $1,000 gone, basically wasted on the violinist.”

Then, it’s time for the couple portraits. Sydney says it’s just 30 minutes into the cocktail hour and she and her husband are taking photos. In the midst of all this, the wedding coordinator approaches the bride to tell her that they are “already almost completely out of alcohol.”

It gets worse

Naturally, the couple starts panicking. The groom’s brother gets sent on a run to get more alcohol, which turns out to be just five things. The notion that the booze was almost done turned out to be “completely untrue.” The worst part? Everything that they bought in a panic was left over the day after.

Lastly, the time comes to cut the cake. But before doing so, Sydney is told that the cake stand her mother thrifted for her was “not gonna work.” She highlights that she’s not trying to place the blame on anyone but all these issues bothered her. Especially the “fake alcohol crisis.”

Sydney ends the video saying that she loved her wedding, but she was very stressed out on the day. “When you spend a year and a half planning something and tens of thousands of dollars, it is really frustrating to watch things not go accordingly,” is the last thing she says.

Viewers Question the Wedding Coordinator

Countless viewers are attributing all these issues to the wedding coordinator. A viewer with over 1,300 likes says, “As a wedding planner, you never go up to the couple in a crisis you solve problems that’s your job.” Another questions, “No because isn’t the coordinator supposed to coordinate the vendors?!?”

However, one viewer comments that if that were the case, Sydney should have hired a planner instead. They said they are more detailed and involved with the entire event. Sydney then replies, “I did communicate these details to the vendors and the coordinator – i thought it was the coordinators job to ensure they executed on those details lol.”

Another viewer says, “A day of coordinator doesn’t do before wedding vendor meetings…” Sydney responds, “Mine did.”

Other viewers harp on the mistakes. A comment with over 97,000 likes on the first clip says, “It’s only funny because it’s not my wedding.” A second viewer says, “This is SENDING me.”

Lastly, one viewer says, “The instrumental would’ve been beautiful but this is hilarious.”
