‘We have to take care of this little gnat’: Donald Trump muses banning the Democratic Party altogether
Donald Trump is not letting any opportunity go by when it comes to villainizing the Democratic Party.
While the United States government continues to be in a state of shutdown, thanks to him and his party’s failure to agree with the Democrats on a bill that extends medical benefits to the country’s population, he is busy addressing crowds and weaving an anti Democrat narrative.
On Sunday, October 5, while giving a speech at Naval Station Norfolk in Norfolk, Virginia, on the occasion of the US Navy’s 250th birthday celebrations, United States President Donald Trump promised the personnel in the audience that they would receive their salaries despite the ongoing government shutdown. This is after they were previously informed that they would have to work without pay from September 30 to the time the government resumed functioning following the shutdown. He said:
“We will get our service members every last penny. Don’t worry about it.”
He also announced pay hikes for several groups of people deployed with the government, mentioning “across-the-board pay raises for every sailor and service member in the United States Armed Forces.” While the crowd erupted in large cheers and applause over the good news, Trump also took the time to blame the Democrats for the government shutdown and for several other things that, according to him, needed to be taken “care of.” He said:
“But, we have to take care of this little gnat that’s on our shoulder called the Democrats. They want to give all of our money to illegal aliens that pour into the country.”
He did not stop there. He continued his Democrat hate parade by mentioning that he had a “bigger heart than they do” while noting that if he allows money to flow in the direction of “illegal aliens”, then more people would want a piece of it. Paying heed to such a demand, Trump said, would be very difficult for him.
