[VIDEO]: TMS Connects With Pacific Islander Pride and Disney Fun at the Moana Blue Carpet Premiere in L.A.

We here at TMS have been looking forward to Disney’s Moana since it was first announced back in 2014. We have high hopes for this awesome-looking tale of a teenage Polynesian heroine with a strong relationship with the ocean who joins forces with a demigod to save her people. Thankfully, we don’t have to wait any longer. Moana opens nationwide tomorrow! To celebrate, I attended the Moana “blue carpet” premiere at the El Capitan Theater in Los Angeles!

In the video above, I chat with several people behind Moana, including cast members like Rachel House, who plays the inimitable Gramma Tala; Temuera Morrison (whom you might know from the Star Wars universe as the voice of Jango Fett, as well as Commander Cody in Revenge of the Sith) who plays Moana’s dad, Chief Tui; singer/songwriter Alessia Cara who performs Moana‘s end credits song “How Far I’ll Go”; and members of the creative team like Moana producer Osnat Shurer, Songwriter Opetaia Foa’i, and screenwriter (and TMS fan!) Jared Bush.

Tomorrow, TMS’ resident video genius Alec Bernal and I will be going to see Moana, and I’ll give you my immediate reaction via our social media channels. You’ll be able to read my full thoughts on the film on Thanksgiving Day! So, if you’re looking for something to do with your family this holiday weekend, Moana might be just the thing you need. Make sure you check back in with TMS tomorrow and Thursday!

**And by the way, we’ll be doing up a transcript and captions for the video soon! We’ll social an updated post as soon as that’s done!
