Although it is very unfortunate, many would agree that infidelity in relationships has become quite common. It’s so prevalent that you have likely heard about it happening to friends and family, experienced it yourself, or seen it depicted in popular culture like movies and TV shows. @carlyysarahh also has a story on this topic, and her video on the same is currently trending on TikTok. In her telling, she was not the only person allegedly being misled. That said, the story centers on what Carly describes as a years-long relationship that another woman says was hidden from her.

TikTok user @carlyysarahh received a “Hey Girly” message

Just three days ago, @carlyysarahh uploaded a video to her TikTok in which she said that the previous night, she received a “hey girly” message. Discussing the circumstances of how she received the message, @carlyysarahh mentioned that she was browsing her Instagram message requests when she found this message from a woman with whom she shares several mutual friends. In the video, @carlyysarahh does not reveal the person’s name and refers to her as “K,” as her first name starts with that letter.

Then, @carlyysarahh backtracks to give some context about the event and talks about a boy she met, whose name she again does not reveal but refers to as “J,” since his name begins with that letter. Carly mentions that she met this boy back in 2022 through a mutual friend, and he suggested collaborating with her on her content. At the time, @carlyysarahh found him attractive and shared her Instagram with him, and later, they also started chatting on Snapchat. From there, they moved from sharing numbers to FaceTiming. However, as Carly reveals in her TikTok, they stopped talking after about three weeks.

Then, in December 2022, they reconnected. But in January 2023, Carly met a new guy, started dating him, and ended things with “J.” Throughout 2023, Carly was in a relationship with this new guy, until she broke up with him at the end of the year. Unexpectedly, “J” re-entered Carly‘s life at the beginning of January 2024, but after a while, he ghosted her because he started a relationship with a girl named “M” (name not revealed to maintain privacy), whom Carly knows from social media. Carly mentions she had not heard from “J” in over a year while he was with “M,” and he also blocked her on all social media platforms.

Fast forward to May 2026, Carly ended up adding “J” on Snapchat after he did. She then shifts to the present, focusing on “K” messaging her. “K” sent Carly a “hey girly” message, and when she responded, “K” asked if she was talking to “J” by any chance. Then, through a series of messages, “K” revealed to Carly that she had been dating “J” for seven years since 2019. After learning this, Carly shared her phone number with “K,” and they FaceTimed, where Carly showed her all the conversations she had with “J.” Carly also told “K” about the Valentine’s Day post “J” made about “M” and the lore about their relationship. She even offered to help catch “J” cheating on “M” in any way possible. Carly ended the video by saying she believed karma was coming for “J.”

Stories about infidelity are wildly popular on TikTok. According to Carly, “K” claimed she had been dating “J” since 2019, which would mean his interactions with Carly and “M” overlapped with that relationship. User @sleepyblonde696 wrote, “The way my jaw dropped.” User @lungilehadebe2 commented, “Okay i’m locked in.” User @kimmyteas2 said, “She’s going to stay 100%.” User @naisahxo remarked, “Crazy part is K might stay with J.”

Men vs women, who usually cheats more?

An article by South Denver Therapy on January 27, 2026, highlights that although gender norms have evolved, men remain more likely to cheat than women. Nevertheless, this disparity has narrowed considerably over the last twenty years.

Key statistics in this aspect include:

  • 20% of married men admit to cheating versus 13% of married women.
  • Women’s infidelity rates have risen by 40% in two decades.
  • Among those aged 18-29, women are slightly more prone to cheat (11% vs. 10%).
  • 67% of men who cheat do so multiple times, compared to 53% of women.
