‘This is what corruption looks like’: Jasmine Crockett just exposed Kristi Noem for laundering tax funds into her campaign circle

Jasmine Crockett has never been the one to mince her words when criticising the Republicans. Since her election in 2023 as the U.S. representative for Texas’s 30th congressional district, Crockett has often used her sharp wit and outstanding sarcasm to take shots at multiple GOP members. Her comment about Marjorie Taylor Greene’s “bleach blonde bad built butch body” from 2024 is still fresh in my mind.
Once again, Representative Jasmine Crockett is taking aim at her Republican colleagues during the ‘Subcommittee Hearing on Republican Attempts to Distract from their Failing Public Safety Agenda,’ which occurred on November 19. Highlighting United States Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, Crockett made some bold statements, asserting that Noem has been misappropriating taxpayer money for personal interests, including funnelling funds to a company named The Strategy Group, which played a significant role in Noem’s gubernatorial campaign success in South Dakota. Expanding on this, Crockett pointed out that Noem’s top policy advisor, Corey Lewandowski, had previous associations with The Strategy Group, and her chief spokesperson, Mrs. Tricia McLaughlin, is married to the CEO of that firm. She concluded her comments about Kristi Noem by declaring:
‘This is what corruption looks like. They’re stealing money from the American people’s pockets and depositing it into their bank accounts.”
Jasmine Crockett made these remarks about Kristi Noem after the findings she discussed were published in a ProPublica article a few days earlier. The article, titled ‘Firm Tied to Kristi Noem Secretly Got Money From $220 Million DHS Ad Contracts,’ detailed the extent of Noem’s corrupt practices. It also featured a statement from Mrs. Tricia McLaughlin regarding the relationship between the Department of Homeland Security and The Strategy Group, in which she stated:
“We don’t have visibility into why they were chosen. I don’t know who they’re a subcontractor with, but I don’t work with them because I have a conflict of interest and I fully recused myself. My marriage is one thing and work is another. I don’t combine them.”
