‘This is real’: Hakeem Jeffries shreds Donald Trump’s lie, because facts and the man-baby don’t mix

WASHINGTON, DC - DECEMBER 19: House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) speaks during a news conference in the House Visitors Center at the U.S. Capitol on December 19, 2024 in Washington, DC. With a government shutdown looming, Jeffries said the bipartisan deal on a federal budget continuing resolution is what House Democrats agreed to and support despite President-elect Donald Trump, billionaire Elon Musk and other Republican leaders attempting to torpedo the agreement at the last minute. Hakeem Jeffries is not tolerating racism from United States President Donald Trump. The Minority Leader of the United States House of Representatives has always been vocal about his feelings about Trump, and this time is no exception. On Monday, September 30, 2025, Donald Trump made a very problematic post on his Truth Social account.

Trump uploaded an approximately 35-second digitally altered deepfake video showing Jeffries and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer standing side by side. In it, while the former was shown wearing a sombrero and sporting a moustache, the latter was depicted addressing an audience. In his speech, Schumer said:

“There’s no way to sugarcoat it. Nobody likes Democrats anymore… Not even Black people want to vote for us anymore. Even Latinos hate us, so we need new voters… if we give all these illegal aliens free health care, we might be able to get them on our side. They can’t even speak English, so they won’t realize we’re just a bunch of woke pieces of s***… until they learn English and realize they hate us too.”

The video, visibly created to incite hatred against the people featured and lead to more division among minority groups in the United States, garnered Jeffries’ attention. He took to X (previously Twitter) and seemingly took a dig at Trump’s usage of the doctored video and called him out for his bigotry. He also announced that, despite severe pushback from Trump and his government, he and his team would not back down. He said:

“Cancel the Cuts. Lower the Cost. Save Healthcare. We are NOT backing down.”

Jeffries took another shot at Trump by sharing an old image of the President with his alleged former friend, financier and sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein. To increase the effect of his image, he captioned the picture as:

“This is real.”

Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein’s so-called former friendship has been one of the most notorious ones in recent memory. Time and again, whenever Epstein’s name has come up in the media, including conversations related to the Epstein Files, Trump’s name has come along with it. It is widely believed that Trump was involved in Epstein’s child sexual abuse activities and was one of his prominent clients.
