Zendaya and Robert Pattinson are an engaged couple crashing out in ‘The Drama’ trailer
The marketing campaign for The Drama, the A24 movie starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, has already broken the Internet before it barely begun.
On Wednesday, A24 released the first teaser trailer for the upcoming film, ahead of its debut in theaters on April 3, 2026. Also starring Mamoudou Athie, Alana Haim, Hailey Gates, and Zoë Winters, the film is directed by Dream Scenario‘s Kristoffer Borgli, and counts Ari Aster among its executive producers.
That creative team’s vibe is easy to spot once you see the trailer for The Drama, and the wide array of feelings that Zendaya’s Emma and Pattinson’s Charlie begin to feel. In the film, days before their wedding, a couple’s relationship is shaken when one partner discovers unsettling truths about the other. While we can’t tell exactly what those truths are yet, the footage showcases plenty of big emotions… on top of the normal stress of being in the eleventh hour before your wedding.
This will mark the first of several collaborations between Zendaya and Pattinson set to hit the screen in the near future, as they will both be seen in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey in the summer of 2026, as well as Dune: Messiah, which is currently scheduled to be released in December of 2026. But this one has already felt special, in part because their combined star power is being used in the romantic comedy space.
A24 even leaned into the occasion that The Drama centers around by printing a fake wedding announcement for the fictional couple in the Boston Globe. Fans immediately started analyzing it (and poking fun at Charlie’s biography), while also just relishing in the idea that a rom-com is getting this kind of showcase. Of course, as this trailer shows, it won’t be a purely fluffy experience that many usually associate with the genre… but it will still be fun to see exactly how it unfolds.
The Drama is set to be released exclusively in theaters on April 3, 2026.
