Tennessee Woman Forgets Something at the Gas Station: ‘Who Were You With?’

Tennessee Woman Forgets Something at the Gas Station 'Who Were You With'

When a relationship lasts long enough, couples eventually start forgetting things—whether it’s to take out the trash or certain important dates. But a woman from Tennessee (@1stlady_roberts) has forgotten about something that left TikTok in tears.

Roberts was driving her car when she received a call. She put it on CarPlay, and it was her husband.

“Where are you?” He asked, which seemed to be a normal question—especially for couples who like keeping track of their significant other’s whereabouts.

“I’m on my way home?” she replied.

“Where were you at?” The tone seemed a little more confrontational.

“At the gas station?” she said.

“Who were you with?” At this point, he sounded accusatory. Was this about to be a TikTok cheating video? Not exactly, but even the woman thought her husband was accusing her of infidelity.

“Oh my God, you don’t trust me or something?” She asked, perplexed that he’d even be asking her the string of questions. She paused for three seconds and then realized why he’d been asking all along.

“Oh my God, I forgot you at the gas station!” She said, adding, “I’m turning around now. I’ll be there in a minute.”

Forgetting about him at the gas station

Needless to say, it wasn’t a cheating scandal—she only forgot about her husband at the gas station. But before she remembered, he had to interrogate her first so that it would sink in. Although Roberts is known for posting comedy videos with her husband, this video seemed to be unplanned.

“Before y’all judge me, just know I was panicking the entire ride back,” she wrote on TikTok. The commenters on TikTok were just as amused. Some social media users believe that this wasn’t the first time that Roberts had driven off without her husband in the car.

One wrote, “‘You don’t trust me?’ No. No, he does not.”

A TikTok user said, “His tone suggests this has happened before.”

Another comment reads, “The fact that the immediate call from him didn’t refresh your memory and he still had to go through an interrogation and put you in your defenses to get you back on track is hilarious.”

Others were initially defensive of Roberts. They thought that Roberts’ husband was being controlling until the unexpected, yet comedic, twist. Not everything is as it seems.

Someone commented, “I judged him too quickly.”

Another backtracked on their initial thoughts, “I was so irritated with his tone at the start. My bad.”

A response jokingly said, “Well, I was about to tell you to leave that man. But you already did.”

Even the official Uno account wrote, “Reverse real quick.”

The best argument for smartphones

But it seems that even though Roberts’ situation was chaotic, others on social media have had similarly hilarious experiences. A comment beneath her video said, “My mother-in-law left me at the gas station.” My phone was in her car, and I didn’t know her number by heart. I was panicking until I saw my husband walk out of the bathroom in the store. We both got left.”

Another shared, “My mom left me at the grocery store once in the 90s. I had to walk home.” This case alone seems like the best argument for the invention of handheld phones. Thankfully, with smartphones everywhere, this incident has become a comedic bit for the internet to enjoy.
