When renting a storage unit, at worst, you expect to sweep out some abandoned junk the last renter forgot about.

One TikTok creator says her experience went far beyond that.

According to Jasmine (@jazkaleigh), what she found inside her brand-new storage unit looked less like leftover clutter and more like the beginning of a crime scene.

Her video documenting the discovery has now gotten more than 13.5 million views. Viewers followed along as the situation grew more unsettling by the update.

A Leak She Says Didn’t Make Sense

In the first video, Jasmine films herself standing outside her closed storage unit. At the bottom of the metal door, viewers can see a small, dried puddle of something dark red seeping out onto the concrete. Jasmine alleges in the video that it appears to be blood.

The clip ends with visible panic and confusion as she processes what she’s seeing and decides to alert authorities. From there, she begins posting updates as the situation develops.

A Series of Updates That Only Raised More Questions

In a follow-up video, Jasmine shares text overlaid on the screen. “Guys they confirmed it was not animal blood + are having me meet them there tomorrow for an official statement :’),” she wrote.

That clarification did little to calm people down.

In another update, she adds more context about what the storage facility told her. “Little did she know she’d find a crime scene storage unite and the office manager would say ‘oh that? its been there a longgggg time.’”

As viewers continued to flood the comments with theories and concern, Jasmine posted yet another update. This time, the tone shifted from shock to frustration. “Update from today: the [police emoji] called me from a blocked caller id to come and meet them and then haven’t answered my calls since,” she writes in the overlay.

She then explains that when she tried to follow up, things became even murkier: “I didn’t wanna call 9*1 again so i called the police station + they sayd they never even heard about the report i made.”

That post appears to be the last update she’s shared so far. We’ve reached Jasmine via email to see whether the police ever followed up or whether the storage facility provided more answers.

Why Storage Units Make People Nervous

Jasmine’s story struck a nerve partly because storage units appear again and again in major criminal cases.

In August last year, a 39-year-old man was found dead inside a storage unit in The Dalles, Oregon, in a case where his fiancée was later arrested. In another widely reported case, a woman’s body was found in a storage unit, and her son was taken into custody. More recently, a decomposing body of an unidentified woman was discovered in a storage unit in Atlanta.

These cases aren’t the norm, but they’re common enough to make stories like Jasmine’s feel plausible.

Commenters Share Their Own Horror Stories

In the comments under Jasmine’s videos, viewers didn’t just speculate. Many shared personal stories that made the situation feel even darker.

“My aunt was found dismembered in a storage unit in suit cases and a deep freezer,” one person wrote.

Another added, “No they recently found a body in a storage unit in my town and it was bad. the fbi got involved because our sheriff department did not have the resources or ability to head the investigation necessary.”

Others tried to cope with humor, with one commenter simply writing, “See yall in the documentary.”

For now, Jasmine’s story remains unresolved. What exactly leaked from the unit, how long it had been there, and why her report appeared to vanish all remain unanswered.
