‘Stop the insanity:’ Marjorie Taylor Greene pleads with Trump administration to stop the war

Former Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, who used to defend President Donald Trump at every turn, is calling on her former MAGA allies to stop the war in Iran. She went on an interview with CNN’s Kaitlan Collins to speak against the war.

“I’m a strong supporter of our military and the great men and women who serve,” she said of the thirteen servicemembers who died because of Operation Epic Fury.

“We voted for no more foreign wars and no more regime change.” Greene also claims that Vice President JD Vance and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard believed that going to war with Iran would be “a terrible idea.”

“President Trump, I voted for him three times, fought for him to become president, and I still want him to be successful,” says Greene. She brings up how Trump used to dislike foreign intervention, up until recently. Nevertheless, Green maintains the opinion that the attack on Iran was unprovoked. She blames Israel for essentially dragging the United States to war.

“He told us in the summer that he had completely obliterated all of their nuclear abilities and had even chastised any news organization or media that said otherwise.”

Greene brings up the formally issued White House statement. It suggests key Iranian nuclear facilities have already been obliterated.

The economic and human cost of the war

“There are so many innocent people dying. I mean, the little girls’ school is such an outrage. It’s horrific,” she says of the strike in Minab City that killed 168 people—most of whom are children. Although still under investigation, multiple reports suggest that the United States is responsible for bombing an Iranian school.

“We don’t want to think of our military as being responsible for killing little children,” Greene added. She emphasizes that Americans are “owed” answers regarding this tragedy. The former congresswoman pointed out that while gas and grocery prices soar, billions are spent on the war instead.

“We’ve got the Republicans in Congress right now, and they can’t even fund Homeland Security. Our own Border Patrol, ICE, TSA agents, and others are not even getting paid,” Greene argues. And yet, she predicts that the neoconservative wing of the party will fund $50 billion more towards the war.

The former congresswoman recalls American involvement in the Middle East and how it shaped her generation.

Greene refers to Gen X and Millennials. She alleges that the “Baby Boomers in power” are ruining the opportunities of the younger generations over wars. She blames them for leaving the younger generations with trillions in national debt and possibly bankrupting Social Security.

“This is not what we voted for. And I’m certainly praying for our military troops, and I’m praying for the administration to stop the insanity.”

Does MTG miss Congress?

When Collins asked, Greene laughed. “Absolutely not.”

“This is an institution with a thirteen percent approval rating because it fails Americans over and over.” She believes that in Congress, it has always been “America last.” Greene describes herself as the opposite when it comes to serving Americans.

Regardless of opinions people have about Greene, it seems that she will not be returning to politics anytime soon.
