‘Speak truth’: AOC is not mincing words while torching Trump’s corruption in the field of healthcare
United States Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is making sure that Americans know where their money is going. It is definitely not into healthcare, which it ideally should be, but somewhere else about which a lot of people wouldn’t be too excited, while some, especially Republicans, would definitely be.
On Monday, while standing on the steps of the White House, AOC made a revelation that has shocked many. She said that the the triilions of dollars that had been allocated to provide healthcare to American citizens, which Donald Trump and his administration are effectively currently denying providing, were being redirected and used for other purposes, one of them being funding the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. AOC’s exact words were:
“I want everybody to understand the cuts to your healthcare are what’s paying for this. All that extra money that everybody’s paying right now in their premiums, all that extra money that you are paying…all of that extra money that the government and the ACA subsidies that was given to nearly a trillion dollars in healthcare was taken out and given to ICE”
While MAGA and Republican supporters will refuse to acknowledge Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s remarks in this regard, some of them might secretly believe it to be true. Because how else do you justify the spending that is being done in the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement? The government agency has been conducting raids throughout America since almost the beginning of this year, when Trump took office for a second term, under his orders and guidance. Raids, which are a big part of the work that ICE agents do, require a lot of money, which means the current administration is funding all of this, and given the extent to which they are conducted, it should cost thousands of dollars, if not less. And, when that amount of money is being spent here, then there is obviously somewhere from where money is being deducted to maintain balance and what other place could it be than healthcare, something President Donald Trump recently dubbed as not of “tremendous interest.”
Having said that, AOC also briefly spoke about the atrocities inflicted by ICE on people residing in America. While she has previously, on multiple occasions, spoken about them terrorising the immigrant populations of the country, she took this opportunity to address the demise of Renee Nicole Good, who was murdered by an ICE agent on January 7, 2026 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She also highlighted how Americans were unknowingly indirectly getting involved in such activities, saying, “You get screwed over to pay a bunch of thugs in the street that are shooting mothers in the face.”
