SNL just hilariously roasted Donald Trump over the release of the ‘redacted’ Epstein Files

No one is happy with the nearly entirely redacted Epstein Files released by the United States Department of Justice in the past few days. However, reactions to the event vary widely.
Some people are mourning the loss of justice and goodwill, while others are preparing to take action against those who failed to deliver on their promises. As for the rest? They are simply finding amusement in the situation, given how absurd and concerning everything is.
Since Donald Trump began his second term as President of the United States this year, one show that has consistently highlighted the happenings at the White House, particularly those involving Trump, is NBC’s late-night live sketch comedy variety show, Saturday Night Live. Over the past few months, the show has featured several skits focused on Donald Trump, attracting considerable attention from both regular viewers and those who catch clips on social media platforms like X.
Recently, the show aired another skit centered on Donald Trump, this time addressing the Jeffrey Epstein investigation and the Department of Justice’s release of completely blacked-out pages of information that are unreadable. James Austin Johnson, known for his impersonation of Donald Trump on the show, is featured in a segment from the recent episode of Saturday Night Live that aired on December 21, 2025, where he claims that the Trump administration is being “very transparent” regarding the Jeffrey Epstein case because Epstein was a “terrible man” he didn’t know well, but liked “a lot.”
He then pulls up the Epstein documents, which he asserts make him look “very good.” The document that Johnson, portraying Trump, displays during the skit is heavily redacted for ‘sensitive information.’ His remarks, while displaying the document, were:
“But with regard to files, we’re being very transparent, because Jeffrey Epstein was a terrible man and I didn’t know him, and I liked him a lot. So we released all the files, and I come out looking, frankly, very good. We had to redact a few sensitive things, but you’ll get the gist here. Look at this. Check it out. See? It’s all there. Can you believe it?”
And what did the documents actually say? Well, among several lines of redaction that far exceeded the lines that were left, the files stated: “Trump didn’t do nothing bad. Trump does smash, but not the wrong kind. The end.” This same statement received a lot of positive reactions from the audience at the show, filling the room with loud laughter and cheers.
