After being found guilty of lying about the timeline of his association with Jeffrey Epstein, Trump appointed United States Secretary of Commerce, Howard Lutnick, on Tuesday, during his testimony on Capitol Hill, admitted to having had lunch with the sex trafficker in 2012, long after he was first convicted of his crimes.
Discussing the same, he said:
I did have lunch with him as I was on a boat going across on a family vacation.”

She was specifically asked if the White House was continuing to “stand behind” him or if there was a “shift” in their thought processes.
Leavitt’s answer to this question was nothing anyone had not already expected. She remarked, “Secretary Lutnick remains a very important member of President Trump’s team, and the president fully supports the secretary.”
