Woman travels to Florida with man she met on Bumble. Then she leaves him there and takes a solo flight home: ‘I’m on the floor’
A woman goes to Florida for a vacation with a Bumble date. Then, she gets a Facebook message that makes her book a flight home without him.
In a video with over 14,000 views, TikToker PB (@pb_reallife) says she had been on several casual dates with “Bumble Guy” before they decided to take a trip to Florida. PB says her date tagged her on Facebook for the “first time ever” when they checked into the resort.
“I was geeked. We’re getting more official!” she exclaims. “This whole day he’s telling me how bad he wants to meet my children.”
She “thought [she] had met Prince Charming” until that night, when she suddenly felt her “intuition” tell her something was wrong. The next day, she gets a notification on her phone right before heading out to go parasailing.
“I have a message request and a ‘Hey Girly’ message,” she says.
What’s a “hey girly” message?
A “Hey Girly” message is something no woman in a romantic relationship wants to receive. The term refers to getting a message from a partners “other woman” who comes forward with details about the affair.
Many women start the message with “hey girly” as an awkward attempt to diffuse any tension and convey friendliness to the woman they’re breaking the bad news to.
On the r/AskWomen subreddit, members discuss the moment they had to send a “hey girly” text.
“He was swiping on Tinder and had his Instagram attached. Where you could literally see pictures of him and his girlfriend,” one shares. “Once I had gotten her insta, I asked him ‘how would Shelby feel about you on here?’ And he immediately unmatched me, while I sent her all the screenshots.”
Another writes, “The guy I was seeing, had a whole girlfriend of four years that I had no idea about. As soon as I found out, I sent her the text and now her and I are friends and he’s alone and sad.”
How did the TikToker respond?
In a follow-up video, she shares that she decided to go parasailing anyway while she texted back and forth with the woman. She discovers that the woman who sent the message was her date’s ex-girlfriend, whom he had been secretly seeing still.
“He was still traveling back to see her,” PB says. “I didn’t for a second doubt this woman.”
The TikToker recounts that the man even DoorDash’d her soup and medicine when she was sick. While she thought he was on a work trip, it turns out he was staying at his ex’s house.
When the pair gets back to the resort, she drops the bomb on him. She booked a flight that same night to leave Florida alone, revealing that she knew he was still seeing his ex.
Viewers praise PB for standing her ground after learning about the affair.
“Good for you for protecting your children and not introducing them to this guy before you were sure about his intentions. and good for you for choosing yourself and respecting yourself,” one writes.
“Never settle with someone that keeps options!!!” another says.
