How to Walk in Nine Major U.S. Cities

Recommended Videos

Travel site Hipmunk has released this useful guide to being a pedestrian in major American cities. It gets all the big names: Chicago, New Orleans, Los Angeles, and even those weird non-cities like Washington D.C., which I am pretty sure is considered a colonial holding by U.S. law.

As a world traveler and all around bon vivant, I have pedestrianed in all of these cities and can attest to the general validity of this chart. I do, however, take exception, as pedestrianing in Chicago is far from standard. I can think of no other major U.S. city where winter winds can blow you over into a 8 foot snow drift.
