‘Party of pro life’: Donald Trump’s ICE stoops to a new low as agents detain a five-year-old as he returned from school

After the controversy surrounding Renee Good’s death, one would expect that the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) would be more careful about its dealings while conducting raids. However, that has not been the case, and there are no indications that they plan to change their approach anytime soon.
In reports released by multiple news outlets recently, it was revealed that the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement had detained a 5-year-old on Tuesday. His name is Liam Conejo Ramos, and he was allegedly seized from his family car after returning from school. Zena Stenvik, the superintendent of Columbia Heights Public Schools, during a news conference on Wednesday, revealed some additional disturbing details about the incident, noting that another adult individual was living in the home who was outside who “begged” the agents to let them take care of Ramos, but they denied. Stenbvik also stated that the agents led Ramos “to the door and directed him to knock on the door, asking to be let in, in order to see if anyone else was home — essentially using a 5-year-old as bait.”
Since this information became public, the official X (formerly Twitter) account of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement shared a post in which they attempted to refute the allegations against them. I’m not sure how much trust can be placed in these claims, considering these individuals are known for their dishonesty and will go to any lengths to justify their actions, but here’s what the page stated:
ICE did not, and has never, “used a child as bait.” The child was ABANDONED. On January 20, ICE conducted a targeted operation to arrest Adrian Alexander Conejo Arias an illegal alien from Ecuador who was RELEASED into the U.S. by the Biden administration. As agents approached the driver Adrian Alexander Conejo Arias, fled on foot — abandoning his child. For the child’s safety, one of our ICE officers remained with the child while the other officers apprehended Conejo Arias.”
As you can see, first and foremost, ICE denied using a child as bait to meet mission objectives. Secondly, within this information, the post managed to blame the Biden administration, in a blatant attempt at deflection once again. Third, they tried to create the impression that they were protecting the child, which, considering their actions over the past few months, is quite hard to believe.
It is also worth noting that the child is currently being held with his father at an ICE detention centre in Texas. How, then, are they truly protecting him, and why do they present themselves as these righteous beings when they are subjecting a child to such treatment that could potentially scar him for life?
