Geriatric Man and Caretaker Robot: They Commit Crime

And Now For Something Completely Different

Recommended Videos

You’ll forgive me if I post something a little off topic this morning, but the part of me that’s a sci-fi fan and the part of me that was raised by a legal professional specializing in end of life decisions is just fascinated by Robot and Frank, featuring Frank Langella and Peter Sarsgaard in the titular roles, but supported by Liv Tyler and Susan Sarandon, a couple of ladies I’ll watch any time. The idea is, Frank’s kids worry about him living alone at the end of his life, and since it’s the near future, they can buy him an autonomous robot caretaker. But Frank is also a retired jewel thief, and when the robot starts getting his mind and body more active again, suggesting that he needs a project… there’s really only one thing that can occupy his attention.

Susana Polo thought she'd get her Creative Writing degree from Oberlin, work a crap job, and fake it until she made it into comics. Instead she stumbled into a great job: founding and running this very website (she's Editor at Large now, very fancy). She's spoken at events like Geek Girl Con, New York Comic Con, and Comic Book City Con, wants to get a Batwoman tattoo and write a graphic novel, and one of her canine teeth is in backwards.
