Oklahoma Man Took a Pit Stop at QuikTrip so His Daughters Can Use the Restroom. Then, a Man Called the Cops on Him: ‘He’s Taking His Sweet Time’

Women’s bathrooms have been a subject of debate in today’s political climate. But it appears that the policing has gotten extreme to the point that even a father helping his two young daughters use the restroom at QuikTrip is now cause for controversy.
Tyler Brodsky (@tylerbrodsky2), who was on a road trip with his family, had to take a stop at QuikTrip on their way home back to Oklahoma. His two daughters needed to go to the restroom, so he accompanied them.
The girls’ ages were not disclosed, but it appears that they were still too short to reach the bathroom sink. Brodsky’s video, which was uploaded on TikTok, featured a man by the door of the women’s restroom.
“I’m standing in the doorway of the lady’s bathroom,” the man in the gray Reebok shirt said. He was on the phone with the cops.
“There is a man with his two little girls using the women’s bathroom. He is washing his hands with his daughters right now,” he said, his voice echoing through the bathroom. The man was disgruntled by Brodsky’s presence in the women’s bathroom, even though he was only there to assist his children.
The confrontation at QuikTrip escalates
One of his daughters seemed upset that there was an unknown man with a loud voice by the doorway. The little girl started crying while behind Brodsky.
“It’s okay, some men are just immature,” he told his daughter in an attempt to console her. Brodsky initially paid no mind to the man, but the phone was still recording on the counter. It seems that another sore point for the man by the door is that he also has two female family members who are waiting to use the restroom.
“He’s refusing—he’s taking his sweet time,” the man on the phone told the cops.
“I have two girls washing their hands,” Brodsky told the man. But he wouldn’t budge, gesturing to Melissa, the manager of the QuikTrip.
“Let this lady… She can bring your daughters in here, she’s a manager at the QT,” he argued.
“I’m their dad,” Brodsky replied.
“I understand! If you don’t have any business, bring them over to the men’s bathroom,” the man replied.
“They’re girls. They go to the women’s bathroom,” Brodsky explained. Melissa stepped in and helped one of the girls grab some tissue. When the man stepped out of the bathroom doorframe, Melissa closed the door and leaned against it.
“I’m so sorry,” she told Brodsky, shaking her head. When Brodsky and the kids came out of the restroom, the man was still on the phone with the cops, saying that the police were “on their way.”
Brodsky overwhelmed by support on TikTok
The video went viral on TikTok, with many sending heartfelt messages to Brodsky and his daughters. One comment under his video reads, “You did nothing wrong. I am a female, I have a daughter and 3 granddaughters. Continue to be the great dad you are.”
Another commenter said, “I’m a girl mom and I’m proud of you protecting these babies.”
Many shared their anger over the man who called the police on Brodsky over a bathroom trip. They wrote, “Find out who this guy is and put him on blast. He’s scaring them little girls.”
But many others also praised Melissa for helping the kids and closing the door on the man, calling her a “queen” throughout the comment section. One TikTok user said, “What location is this? I would love to call corporate and compliment them on how amazing Melissa is!”
Someone else wrote of the QuikTrip employee, “That manager handled that absolutely perfectly! Kudos to her!” And it seems that Melissa has done more than what was shown in the initial clip.
In a follow-up video, Brodsky thanked those who’ve sent his family support through the ordeal. He also said that Melissa “stepped in immediately” to de-escalate the situation.
“She checked on my girls, helped calm the situation down, and made sure that we were okay,” he said, adding, “As a dad, seeing someone show that kind of kindness to my daughters in a stressful moment meant a lot.”
