Oh it feels great having this Marvel baddie back

marvel's defenders all standing together

It is a great time to be a fan of the Netflix Marvel shows. Or, well, now the Disney+ shows that were once Marvel shows on Netflix…you get what I’m saying.

At New York Comic Con this year, The Mary Sue attended the Marvel Television panel. Since, there is only one thing I keep thinking about and it is that we are getting Jessica Jones back in action. Back in 2015, the first season of Jessica Jones was released. It threw Krysten Ritter into the Marvel world and was yet another example of the amazing work the casting department of the Netflix Marvel shows was doing.

But just like our beloved Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, there was a time when we were not sure whether or not we’d ever see the Defenders again. As of now, we only have two of the team back in live-action but hey, at least Jessica is coming back right? That is how the original order of operations went.

The panel at New York Comic Con brought Ritter out on stage with Cox and fans got to see a trailer for the upcoming second season of Daredevil: Born Again, which does include Matt and Jessica’s beautiful working relationship.

The MCU needs her

My favorite characters in the Marvel canon are the women who have a lot to cope with. Wanda Maximoff is exploring grief, Yelena Belova is trying to find who she is outside of her sister, Natasha Romanoff is coming to terms with her past, and so on and so forth. And a character like Jessica Jones fits the bill.

She’s not afraid to check the male heroes she’s working with and honestly I missed her energy. Who else do we have representing the dirty jeans community? Even from the brief moments we get with her in the new trailer, it is enough to remember that she is one of the best heroes around and I cannot wait to see what she has in store for us in season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again.
