Woman receives $1K Miu Miu shoes from Neiman Marcus. Why does it look like a ‘kid went crazy’ on it?: ‘Nordstrom WOULD NEVERR’

A TikToker has vowed to never shop Neiman Marcus again after a $1,000 Miu Miu shoes return went haywire. Debbie, who is known as @callmedebsss on TikTok, told viewers that her experience with one employee in particular is what led to this decision.
In the clip, which has amassed 1.7 million views, she explained how her husband got her a pair of Miu Mius as a Christmas/birthday present. The expected delivery date was on Wednesday. However, because she wasn’t home that day, she sent the delivery to her parents’ house. So, when she called her parents and asked if the shoes had arrived, she was surprised to hear that they received nothing.
When she checked online, she discovered that the shoes were actually delivered on Sunday, but after calling around her neighbors, they said they hadn’t received a package. So, Debbie called Neiman Marcus about the missing package, and the company says it will file a claim and let them know. Then, she receives an email saying that the company can’t do anything because of company policy.
Where did the shoes go?
So, she goes to the credit card company to file a claim, who tell her to give it a few days. A week goes by, and Debbie’s grandfather said there were, in fact, a few packages on Sunday, and that he brought them to the basement. She found the shoes, so subsequently, she called the credit card company and let them know.
However, the shoes are too small, and earlier in the TikTok, Debbie remarks that the stitching looks like “a kid went crazy on it.” They also cost a total of $1,100 before tax. So, she decided to return them, which involves filing a return online, receiving a barcode, and showing it to an in-store employee to process the refund.
Some time later, Debbie went to the store. After some back-and-forth, she approached an employee in the shoe department. While scanning the shoes, she asked Debbie if she had worn them, to which Debbie replied that she tried them on in her house. The employee then claims that she can’t return them because the warehouse wouldn’t accept them, but Debbie asked her to try anyway. Later on, the employee informed her that she already got a reimbursement, and directly asked her if she was trying to get more credit.
No help from workers
In response, Debbie explains that she was told by Neiman Marcus that they couldn’t do anything—but the assistant told her to take it up with the company, leaving Debbie to feel like a “thief.”
So, when she called Neiman Marcus and explained the situation, the customer rep looked into it and found that she actually got a refund 9 hours earlier. While the rep said she could now return the item by mail, Debbie said that they weren’t seeing the real issue, which was that she was fully refunded three weeks later and not notified.
Debbie didn’t immediately respond to The Mary Sue’s request for comment via TikTok comment and direct message.

She wasn’t alone
Several commenters shared that they had similarly unpleasant experiences in Neiman Marcus stores.
One wrote, “I literally went in WANTING to buy Gucci loafers and the lady looked me up and down before going to get my size and was so rude the entire time. My husband was like: ‘Nope we’re not shopping here with her.'”
Another proclaimed, “Neiman Marcus has terrible customer service. I had a similar experience and didn’t end up getting any shoes or a refund.”
And a third shared, “I have had issues twice with Neiman Marcus. Both with costumer service and delivery issues. I will NEVER order from them again.”
Similarly, a fourth added, “Neiman Marcus is the worst I went to return something I bought online in store and they told me I couldn’t.. I went down stairs to customer service and they literally returned them. Go to Nordstrom instead.”
What happened next?
In a follow-up video, Debbie shared that she got a phone call from a woman from Neiman Marcus corporate, who claimed to have seen her TikTok. After asking what happened, she apologized, said she was “appalled” by the treatment Debbie had and offered a free gift card to “mend the relationship,” which Debbie declined.
The TikToker noted how the lady on the phone tried to find out who the in-store employee was—although she insisted that she wouldn’t get punished. As an alternative, she asked the corporate rep to arrange a FedEx pickup for her.
However, Debbie’s husband raised a good point: How exactly did corporate get her number? While she’s known on TikTok and known colloquially as Debbie, the TikToker explained that she uses her legal name for things like store purchases. So, when the rep called back, Debbie asked her how she got her number. She explained that Neiman Marcus’ social team tracked her down and matched the phone number on the receipt with her. However, this doesn’t explain how they knew her legal name, as this wasn’t on TikTok.
The woman also informed that the reason Debbie wasn’t notified about the reimbursement was due to a system error. However, when Debbie initially made the claim, the company was fast in emailing and say that it couldn’t do anything because of company policy. As a final note, Debbie recounted how, when she was at the store, she asked the employee for a phone number, and while a second employee said there was, the first walked away and didn’t get it for her.
Saks Global, Neiman Marcus’ parent company, didn’t immediately respond to The Mary Sue’s request for comment via email.
