‘MGT is ditching the cult’: Oops, Donald Trump just went off on Marjorie Taylor Greene

The Republicans, including Donald Trump, are as surprised by Marjorie Taylor Greene’s recent vocal opposition to the Trump administration as everyone else is. While Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez may have highlighted the reasons behind MTG’s sudden change of heart, it is still unsettling to see one of the most committed supporters of the Republican Party become what she is now.

In a recent interaction with CNN journalist Kaitlan Collins at the White House, Donald Trump echoed this sentiment. When asked to comment on MTG’s requests for Trump to focus on “domestic policy meetings” rather than “foreign policy meetings” and her claims that grocery prices are going up instead of down, Trump said he did not know what had happened to Marjorie. He also added that she is a nice woman, but she has “lost her way.” He emphasised that, as the president of the United States, his job is to view everything through a global lens rather than a local one, noting that the latter perspective has led to conflict under the previous president, such as the Russia-Ukraine War.

Donald Trump’s comments about Marjorie Taylor Greene, along with his tendency to become defensive and blame his actions on Biden, did not go unnoticed. As clips from the interaction circulated on social media, people began criticising Trump. On X (formerly Twitter), one person observing MTG’s behaviour wrote:

“MGT is ditching the cult – she no longer needs to lie for dear leader.”

Another person analysed Donald Trump’s views on the matter, highlighting how he does not represent the American people but is instead a “greedy opportunist who uses religion to buy votes.” They wrote:

““I have to view the presidency as a world wide situation not locally.” Full stop, that should be the quote. He was never America first, he doesn’t care about Americans or the country. The question was about grocery prices and someone who had an opposing experience to the lies the president continues to tell about low prices and great economic growth. His answer is to tell us why he WON’T help Americans, “he isn’t thinking locally”. He is too obsessed with the fact he lost 2020 and is trying to rewrite history…”

With all that Donald Trump has already done in his second term as the President of the United States, I believe it’s time for a third impeachment. Trump keeps bragging about being better than previous presidents at nearly everything. While he is lying most of the time, if he were impeached for a third time, he wouldn’t be lying when he claims that he is the President who has been impeached the most times.
