Most women panic when strange men pull up beside them in cars. Very few expect the stranger to roll down the window and launch into what is essentially a live-action LinkedIn endorsement for his son.

That’s what happened to one woman walking home from the gym when an older man stopped her with the classic opener, “I don’t want to be creepy, but…”

He then proceeded to deliver a glowing sales pitch. The product? His single son: Berkeley-educated, ER doctor, 6’4″, and family-oriented.

Against all odds, the internet was invested. Contact information was exchanged. Hope was in the air. And then, like so many viral dating stories before it, the fairytale took a turn that required multiple TikTok updates to fully unpack.

What Happened On Her Way Home From The Gym?

It was a seemingly normal day for Izzy (@dose_ofizzy), until she experienced an interaction so odd she couldn’t help but pull out her phone and film a minute-and-a-half of it. Good thing she did, because 7.3 million viewers got hooked easily enough to inspire a 12-part saga.

The original clip’s text overlay states: “A man pulls me over to pitch me his son,” and the video shows exactly that.

Izzy is videoing from her perspective beside the car, as the man scrolls through his camera roll, showing pictures of his son. Funnily enough, they discover that both of them went to the same college: Berkeley. He’s 32 and went to medical school afterward.

The father keeps swiping through photos, one with his son in his gym outfit, with his mom, in a tux at a wedding; you get the picture. Basically, he was trying to get all angles covered. After the show and tell, the father pivots to describing his personality and experience.

He calls him smart, an obvious aspect since he’s an ER doctor. Even more interestingly, the father mentions that they have a ranch in South Dakota and shows a picture of the son on his horse. Izzy calls that a “real plus.”

As the pitch winds down, Izzy then says, “Well, you got my number, you got my email,” as if suggesting she accepts his pitch. For the last time, the father shows the son in his scrubs then calls him a “super nice guy.”

Right before the clip ends, Izzy says, “it’s hard to meet people out here.”

His Ex Reaches Out First

Naturally, viewers were dying for an update. Just a day after the first clip, Izzy shares that the father texted her and gave her the son’s contact information and then proceeded to send her more pictures. He also mentioned that his son is on a trip and would return in a few days.

Izzy’s dilemma was whether she should text the son first or wait to hear from him. The general consensus urged her to take the first step…and she did. Unfortunately, she heard about him but not from him. Apparently, his ex reached out before he did. The verdict? Not so good.

Viewers ask for screenshots, but Izzy says she doesn’t want to expose anyone, so she summarizes the conversation instead. She appeases viewers a bit by saying he was not described as a cheater, an abuser, or dangerous in any way. However, it seems he was a bit of a “player.” This does not deter Izzy at all, and she says she still wants to meet him.

The Saga Continues

In her 7th post, Izzy mentions that it might be a red flag that she posted so much about the guy without ever having a conversation with him. She also notes that he might find it weird or offensive since she posted the video of his father without his consent.

Does this bother her? Not in the slightest.

She says it might just show that they don’t go well together. It’s been five days since the original video and Izzy decides to send him a voice message.

She does multiple takes until she finds one she’s satisfied with. Izzy starts with the story of how it all began, his dad showing pictures and “begging” them to meet. She suggests sending a few pictures of her own and meeting in person.

Does He Respond?

He does not. Izzy posts a video later in the day after she messaged him as she does her grocery shopping. She shows a bouquet of flowers she buys to “manifest” something. The day ends, and he still hasn’t gotten back to her yet. In the following video, Izzy still hasn’t heard back yet, but she shares how this might be a sign to focus on herself. She mentions she would rather make a “bajillion” dollars herself than from getting with an ER doctor.

“Like, men have made themselves pretty obsolete,” she explains.

Izzy Gets in ‘Trouble’

It seems she finally got a response, but not the one she was waiting for. Apparently, she got in “trouble” for posting the father without his permission, just like how she predicted.

Izzy says she got rejected on two fronts in his response. First, he claims he’s not dating at the moment. Second, he mentions that “you shouldn’t film people without their permission, especially someone’s loved one.”

Izzy rolls her eyes and admits she had already guessed that was a probable case but still chose to update with TikToks anyway. Her takeaway?

“They’re just so uptight that way. It’s not a match for me,” she claims.

Within the past 48 hours, Izzy has posted two clips concerning the entire debacle. One she captions “a win is a win” with the text overlay reading: “when you had a bad feeling abt him and you ended up being right so know you know your intuition is strong.”

In the video, she’s dancing to an audio mix of Anne with an E’s “I love being a woman.” In the last clip, however, viewers are left in a cliffhanger. What is it this time? Well, another ex reached out, and in Izzy’s own words, this one is “even worse.”
