Louisiana Man Takes His Mother to 'Court.' She was Guilty 'The Evidence Can't Be Denied.'

Bringing someone to court is hardly ever ideal. But Dalton Smiley (@daltonsmiley) on TikTok summoned his mother to “court” for an unusual yet hilarious reason.

Dressed in a court wig with a gavel in hand, Smiley had his arms crossed while dialing his mother on FaceTime. He looked displeased, and this seemed to be the start of an arduous “trial.”

“This court is now in session,” he said, banging the gavel when his mother answered the call. Like any serious “judge,” Smiley told her to state her name in “court.”

“Amy, just like you said,” she responded, riding along with her son’s unusual antics. It’s all an elaborate bit, but it was still hilarious to see him dressed as a judge.

“Is this a good time for the court?” He clarified, as if Amy had any choice.

“Is it ever a good time for the court? And the answer is no,” she said, but she didn’t force an explanation out of her son.

“Justice waits for no one,” Smiley dismissed her with. He then went on to ask if she had any idea why she was being summoned by the court. Amy thought about it—there hadn’t been any recent holidays, so she wouldn’t have forgotten to give gifts. She also brought up that Smiley’s birthday was just about to come up. Amy jokingly brought up that she hasn’t missed her son’s birthday “yet.”

By the end of it, Amy has no idea why her son is confronting her in a pseudo court session, garb and all. But then, Smiley finally gave her a hint.

“Where were you on the afternoon of May 29th?” Smiley asked, and again, Amy doesn’t recall anything particular from that day. But then, he started pulling out “evidence.”

He was so prepared, he came with ‘evidence’

“Does this ring a bell?” Smiley asked, unexpectedly pulling up photo evidence of the supposed scene of the crime. He was so prepared, he even printed “proof” that his mother had done something terribly wrong. The photo was that of a table with food—presumably a restaurant setting.

Then, Amy started laughing.

“I mean, since you can’t actually see the person’s head that is in there, I have to plead the fifth on that one,” Amy said. But Smiley wasn’t done, and he pulled out a stack of paper evidence. He showed a photo of Amy and her daughter, Smiley’s sister.

“So, that means you must have been out to lunch with my sister without me,” Smiley accused.

“Because you’re all the way in California,” Amy defended herself from her son’s allegation, as if that made the situation any better. But the actual crime was that Smiley wasn’t even invited digitally to the lunch.

Smiley wasn’t buying her excuse, and he started flashing the stack of papers on call. They were all photographic evidence of Amy’s crimes—how she ate with her daughter, finished their meal, and paid for it fully—all without Smiley.

In fact, Smiley even has evidence that Amy paid for a meal. It’s a serious crime for any adult child not to be included in a parentally funded lunch. What makes it worse is that his sister, Hailey, also has a full-time job, and yet he’s been excluded from the activity.

The funniest court session ever

By the end of it, Amy was sentenced by Smiley to attend his podcast in the coming week. Amy’s guilty as charged, and TikTok users were having a field day over the encounter.

One commenter wrote, “He is judge lawyer and jury. Who is convicting her at this point.”

Someone else took Smiley’s side and said, “The evidence can’t be denied.”

And another comment reads, “if i ever have kids, i hope they’re as fun as this guy.”

There are countless stories about dreadful court encounters, but not for this mother and son duo.
