For Loomer, this was a coronation. Within hours, she posted the clip to her X account, gushing that it was an “honor” to be recognized by Trump. She called it an even bigger honor that he publicly announced her engagement for her, and thanked him profusely. Calling him “the greatest President ever,” and Loomer then went into rapture at the fact that Trump “approves of the greatest man” in her life.
Given how Loomer’s political career has been totally about proximity to Trump, her reaction wasn’t surprising. She’s always trailed Trump’s events like a self-appointed court jester, and she finally got applause. Trump didn’t just recognize her. He praised her and framed her as misunderstood. And in MAGA-world, that kind of attention is currency.
Loomer reacted accordingly, like someone finally getting noticed by the object of their obsession. But Trump likely didn’t mean any of it in the way Loomer did. He casually outed her engagement, riffed for applause, and moved on. For him, it was filler. But for Loomer, it was an event of a lifetime.
