‘Karoline is one polished liar’: Karoline Leavitt is lying again to cover up the dictator in chief’s shortcomings, but it may not be working as well as she thinks
Lies! Lies! And more lies! By now, everyone’s aware that people in the Trump administration love to lie. Whenever they do not have a straightforward answer to something, their easiest way out is to lie (or deflect by lying). They lie about statistics, achievements, shortcomings, and everything in between and beyond. A similar incident is happening again, where White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, who loves to lie with a straight face, is lying once more to cover up her leader in chief’s mistakes.
During a recent press interaction, Karoline Leavitt claimed that China’s decision to purchase soybeans from American farmers again was due to Donald Trump because he was able to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping in South Korea and convince him to buy soybeans from America. She didn’t stop there. She also drew comparisons between Donald Trump and Joe Biden, saying that under Biden, China was not buying soybeans from America, insinuating that the country is better off under Trump.
As videos of her making these obnoxious statements circulated on social media platforms, including X (formerly Twitter), many people called out Leavitt’s bluff, stating that her claims were false. A quick internet search confirms this. Online sources reveal that American soybean exports to China actually increased under Biden and definitely did not stop. While exports were about 93 million metric tons during Trump’s first term, they rose to approximately 108 million metric tons under Biden (an increase of more than 10 million). During Trump’s second term, soybean exports significantly declined, largely due to his trade war with China, which involved imposing hefty tariffs, sometimes as high as 100 per cent. Can you believe the level of pettiness?
Anyway, as I said, people online are seeing through Karoline Leavitt and the Trump administration’s lies and are attempting to remind them that they are not to be fooled as easily as they would like to think. While criticising Leavitt’s falsehoods, one person on X wrote:
“While Donald is without peer, Karoline is one polished liar . . .”
Another user, while praising Leavitt’s resilience in lying for President Trump exactly in the way that she is supposed to, remarked:
Several others shared similar sentiments of disdain for Leavitt and the administration, while a few continued to show unwavering support (mostly MAGA and conservative-leaning people). A few others even started suggesting Trump’s name for the upcoming elections, highlighting that his achievements in this term are sufficient for him to get re-elected for a third term.
