The New Justice League Trailer Has Aquaman Surfing on the Batmobile, Mera, and Amazons

Shall we?

The first official Justice League trailer has arrived, and not only does it have Aquaman car-surfing the Batmobile, but it also features jokes, Mera, and the Amazons! DC, are you going to surprise me?

As the trailer opens, Bruce Wayne (Batman) warns Diana Prince (Wonder Woman): “We have to be ready. You, me, the others. There’s an attack coming, from far away.”

“Not coming, Bruce,” says Diana. “It’s already here.”

The trailer then introduces the other members of the League: Arthur Curry (Aquaman), Barry Allen (The Flash), and Victor Stone (Cyborg), and teases them as the sign of a new “Age of Heroes.” I was happy to see that Aquaman looks like he’s really enjoying himself, despite his gruff-and-buff character redesign.

This footage also includes a few jokes at the expense of Affleck’s humorless Batman–a welcome switch from Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, in which the movie took the character as seriously as he takes himself. First, Aquaman comments on his rather literal costume. Then, Barry Allen asks, “What are your superpowers again?”

Bruce gives the internet’s favorite answer: “I’m rich.”

Plus, we got our first look at Mera in action, and it appears the Amazons will be joining the climactic battle.

Wonder Woman then ends the trailer with a pitch-perfect, “Shall we?”

We all know trailers can be remarkably deceptive, but how are you feeling about Justice League after seeing this trailer? Psyched? Cautiously optimistic? Guarded until the reviews come out?

Directed by Zack Snyder and starring Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, and Ezra Miller as Barry Allen, Justice League is due in theaters on November 17, 2017.
