‘I’m almost feeling manic’: North Carolina baby dad stays out until 7 am. Then wife checks his DM and all hell breaks loose

TikTok user @isabelleshoppinghauls shares her story about losing her baby daddy of four years. Isabelle Byerly begins her video by mentioning that her partner at the time used her car because he didn’t own one. She points out that he often stayed out for long hours hanging out with his co-workers and friends after work, and during those times, he was mostly MIA. When he returned home in the morning, he would usually apologize for his behavior.

One day, after her boyfriend stayed out until seven in the morning, Isabelle was very angry and gave him the silent treatment. Since they both needed to get to work, they were using Isabelle’s car, which her boyfriend was driving. She was sitting in the passenger seat when she noticed her seat was reclined “all the way back,” almost causing her to fall backwards. While she was fixing her seat, Isabelle had a gut feeling that something was wrong. The next day, she checked her baby daddy’s phone and saw conversations with a woman on Instagram that unsettled her.

TikTok user @isabelleshoppinghauls discovered her baby daddy was cheating on her

While going through her baby daddy’s Instagram DMs, Isabelle found messages up until he asked a colleague if Isabelle could join them to hang out, but the rest of the messages had been deleted. Suspecting something was fishy, she attempted to retrieve the rest of the DMs and discovered that her baby daddy and the colleague had exchanged intimate messages. To her horror, she also found that they had kissed, and the woman was in Isabelle’s car, which explains the reclined seat.

When Isabelle confronted her boyfriend about the incident, he claimed he had only kissed the colleague once and tried to justify his actions, stressing that it was a result of poor judgment, which was worsened by their rocky relationship. However, Isabelle didn’t believe that it was limited to a kiss, especially since her seat was reclined far back after she had been in the car, leading her to suspect they had done more than just that. Witnessing this unfold, Isabelle told her boyfriend to move out and called his sister to pick him up and his belongings.

Statistics on cheating in marriage

According to Couple Academy, “the likelihood of men cheating is generally higher than that of women.” Recent statistics from the General Social Survey indicate that 20% of men and 13% of women admitted to having sex outside their marriage while married.

The survey also found that women are slightly more likely than men to commit infidelity among those aged 18 to 29 who are married. Additionally, adultery rates for both genders increase during middle age. The gap between men and women narrows and then widens again among those aged 30 to 34 as they age. The highest rate of infidelity among women occurs in their 60s, but it drops significantly among those in their 70s and 80s. For men, the highest rates are in their 70s, and it remains common in men 80 and older.
