President Trump launched a military strike against Iran on Saturday. Over 40 Iranian leaders have been killed, including the country’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Mace took to X to condemn Khamenei’s resentment of the United States. Mace would clarify that she is not celebrating Khamenei’s death and that it is “about accountability and moral clarity.”

But a few hours later, Mace logged into X to insult two of her Democratic counterparts. She wrote, “My heart goes out to Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib tonight. Sending them thoughts and prayers.” Beneath the tweet is a photo of Khamenei, implying that Omar and Tlaib were supporters of the late dictator.

Omar responded to Mace in another tweet. She wrote, “I hope you aren’t drunk and took your staff’s advice, Rashida and I don’t know this man and feel confident he didn’t care about us.”

“Please restrain from drinking too much, as you have been warned from your staff and stay off social media when you are drunk. I pray in his holy month you find peace and respect for yourself,” she added.

Tlaib has not responded to Mace’s Islamophobic comment. Nevertheless, Omar and Tlaib have no affiliation with the former dictator, who was known for repressing civilian dissent and women’s rights.

Omar and Tlaib criticizes Trump’s war on Iran

Both Democratic congresswomen have been criticizing Trump’s incursion into Iran. After Trump’s announcement, Tlaib released a statement on X that reads, “The American people do not want a war with Iran. Trump is acting on the violent fantasies of the American political elite and the Israeli apartheid government, ignoring the vast majority of Americans who say loud and clear, “No more wars.”

She would later criticize Trump as a “warmonger,” like all the previous Democratic and Republican presidents that sat before him.

Omar, on the other hand, called Trump’s invasion an “illegal regime change.”

“When we abandon diplomacy, we choose destruction,” Omar warned.
