‘I don’t know. I didn’t hear about it.’: Trump, rattled by the Democrat takeover in Texas, plays dumb on camera

There have been multiple occasions when Donald Trump has denied doing something after having done it, so if he does it again sometime in the future, then it shouldn’t really come as a surprise to anyone. However, in this particular case, the level of conscious forgetfulness that Trump is exhibiting is truly unparalleled and hence noteworthy. Honestly, I have not seen anything like it.
In a video that is currently circulating on social media platforms, including X (formerly Twitter), Donald Trump is seemingly having difficulty recollecting information related to the recently held Texas Senate elections. This is after he wrote a whole post on Truth Social about it, including endorsing Republican nominee Leigh Wambsganss and saying that she will never let Texas or the USA “down.” Ahead of the elections on January 31, 2025, Trump wrote on the platform:
..GET OUT AND VOTE for a phenomenal Candidate, Leigh Wambsganss. She is a highly successful Entrepreneur, and an incredible supporter of our Movement to, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN…The Radical Left Democrats are spending a fortune to beat a true MAGA Warrior, Leigh Wambsganss. You can win this Election for Leigh, who has my Complete and Total Endorsement.”
Donald Trump does not appear to be taking the Democrat victory in Texas too well. For those unaware, Democrat Taylor Rehmet on Saturday won a special election for the Texas state Senate, defeating Republican Leigh Wambsganss, whom Trump endorsed. Asked to comment on the outcome of the elections by a reporter in a recent sighting, Trump refused to acknowledge the event altogether.
Butthurt over his endorsement not winning the seat, which he had won by 17 points in 2024, Trump answered with a lukewarm, “I don’t know. I didn’t hear about it. Somebody ran — where?” After the journalist informed him that she was talking about the Texas elections, he jumped into defence mode, saying, “I’m not involved in that. That’s a local Texas race. You mean I won by 17, and this person lost? Things like that happen. I’m not on the ballot…so you don’t know whether or not it’s transferable.”
Trump continued to blabber, threatening people with negative consequences for voting for Democrats during elections, noting that people would “end up with open borders again” and that there would be “crime all over the place.” Additionally, he claimed that his administration had managed to completely wipe out crime from the United States, stating that the country had experienced “the lowest crime it’s had a 125 years. In recorded history. The year 1900, that’s a long time ago. So, it’s very good.” Really??
